"At the turn of the century, all phonographs had an intermittent sound and used large external horn to amplify the sound. What many considered to be unattractive and was quite prone to being bumped or damaged.

In 1905 Clarence Vogt, assigned to the Victor Talking Machine Company, a revolutionary Patent for an improved phonograph with a more harmonic sound and "musical pleasing effects" and a "plurality of record support" that became extremely popular and antecipated the Glorious Days of The Victor Talking Machine Company..."
