Victoria 1872 Silver Shilling S# 3906a (PCGS MS 64)

A superb example of the first Commonwealth shilling struck on Australian soil.

Although Australia had silver Commonwealth coins from 1910, Commonwealth coins weren't actually produced in Australia until 1916. The Melbourne Mint first produced silver coins using dies provided by the London Mint, and copper coins weren't struck in Australia until 1919, when the Sydney Mint began producing halfpennies.

This coin really is just a fraction away from being in mint state - the reverse has a flat strike, while the obverse has just a hint of rubbing on the high points. The fields and rims are clear of any detracting marks, and the coin retains a lovely natural, rose tone.

Condition guaranteed in writing, we are members of ANDA and are bound by a strict code of conduct. Full refund provided within 7 days of receipt if you are not 100% satisfied.

Postage (which can be combined) includes full insurance coverage until you sign for it, don't hesitate to email with any questions, feel free to
