Description

       Another fine English piece is being offered for your consideration in this highly sought after Victorian Oak cylinder roll top writing desk with approx circa 1870’s.   With just hitting our shores this piece has been sent to the top of the class to be offered to the highest bidder and with my very low start there is no reasons why it should not go straight away, a similar piece has now be circulating for month at a starting price of $3,500.00 but I am way bellow that, so don’t miss out an place that winning bid.

       The piece is finished in Oak and by the wonderful appearance has been well looked after by its previous English owner.  The piece is supported by pair of three drawer pedestals which are all in great condition, each opens and closes with ease and has all of its original fittings still in place and I will point out that the bottom drawer to the right pedestal has had a crack through it which has been fixed and is structurally very sound.

       As we make our way to the roll top section once opened internally it reveal a wonderful satinwood fitted interior with six very fine drawers and a small pigeon hole area for the loose bits.  Bellow that we have a pull out writing surface that is fitted with three leather embossed writing sections, with the central panel ability to be adjusted to suit individuals writing slope height, I will also point out that the desk does have a key to lock it up.

       The desk is in pretty much original condition as its evident by the wonderful patina throughout.  Internally to the writing section is where this is most prominent as it’s the one place on the entire piece where most used would have occurred.  The ware is just to the polish and can be easily touched up but as most of us appreciate the peace in its natural beauty it’s the way I left it, and the other area where there are sings of use can be found to the underneath section of the base to the top where the constant sliding occurs from the pull out writing section its minor but am making not of it.

       All in all pieces of this quality with a large cult like following sell well in excess of $3,000.00 on a bad day but here with my low reserve everyone can have a go, so don’t miss out and place your max bid now to ensure you are in with a chance, all the best.

          All the deliveries are made directly by me so I will handle the piece from start to finish, which will avoid double handling and any un-necessary damage to your item.  Delivery times we can arrange to suit individual needs and as shown bellow we could offer FREE or discounted delivery depending on the final value the items receives. 

It is important to point out that we do not look to make additional profits on the delivery fee its there to cover the time and basic wear and tear of the truck to get the piece to you, so if this does not suit you DON’T bid, as I have no time for time wasters.
