Description: A fine landscape, sketch on artist's paper, signed "E.M.S.", and dated 1884 and framed - approx 8 X 8 inches (20.32 X 20.32cm). This is a fine English Post-Impressionist sketch dating from the Victorian period. The landscape depicts a classic miniature romanticist pencil sketch from the Victorian period. Beautifully detailed, this little drawing has been beautifully executed, with wonderful shading, featuring the ruins of a castle and tower on the edge of a lake, mountains rising in the distance. A beautiful piece from the late 19th Century. The work is signed and dated lower right - "E.M.S.", 1884.

Framing: Later plain moulded Wood. Finish: Ebonised. The sketch is mounted on board and has a off-white mount.
Condition: Excellent. The artist's paper has mellowed with age, consistent with character and authenticity, otherwise in fine original condition. The frame has minor wear consistent with age.
