From the mid 1800's, a Victorian wooden box with original mother of pearl shell inlay on the top. There was also a mother of pearl inlay around the escutcheon which is now missing-see photo no.2.
There are a few little patches of inlay wood missing from the Star Anise /Geometrical inlay pattern as can be seen in Photo no.1.
Two small chips missing from the veneer at the back. See photo no. 5. The hinges are original and in good condition.
A small amount of restoration would see this box restored to its original glorious condition. Value if perfect would be over $500!
