Vintage German Transistor Movement English Metamec
Wall Clock in Good Working Order
This vintage wall clock is more than 40 years old, it was made by the respected English clockmaker Metamec, it has the original quality German Junghans mechanical movement driven by a battery & is one of the early battery clocks, these Early battery powered mechanical clocks were some of the pioneer models for todays battery clocks & are quite collectable, this model is in the style of a kitchen or wall clock
The clock has been in my collection for a few years now, it has a transistor type battery driven mechanical movement, the balance/escape gear can be seen moving in the back of the clock when it is removed from the wall, the case is an early type of plastic, the clock is in very good working condition, & looks almost like new, Metamec closed their business in 1968 so the clock would date before that time
The clock can be regulated by the adjustment on the movement
it keeps reasonable time within a couple of minutes each week, it may need adjusting after travelling, it was designed to take the old style "C" cell battery but a modern "AA" will fit & operate the clock, the clock runs smoothly & quietly the diameter is 200/215mm x 55mm deep, please check the photo's for details of the style & general condition
