Vintage eyeglasses with old case. These could date back to the 1930s, possibly. These glasses would be suitable for putting new prescription lenses in the frames. I think these may be 9ct, 1/20th gold plated although they aren't marked as such . However they are almost identical to vintage 9ct. gold filled ones I have previously had. There are two imprints both marked "Algha 20" (the '20' is in a circle). The frames consist of arms, top frame, bridge and nosepieces. Although these lenses (approx 3 or 3+) are large, these frames would easily take the smaller modern lenses as there is no bottom frame. New prescription lenses are available from about $65 pair - it's best to shop around because the same lenses can cost $120 or more at some 'big name' places. I had some quotes a few days ago and was surprised at the difference. Often the medical funds cover the cost completely as I think the replacement lenses are covered by 'repairs to spectacles' or similar. The case is an old leather look hardcase hinged OPSM case. Shipping within Australia is $6.50 Other interesting items to be listed soon. Postage discount for combined purchases. |
