    In the original model from the French 1915 De Veau desk set; this type of handset has been called the Microhand. It's metal base is very petite and stable, very well proportioned in overall design.
    In 1915, it was a common battery type telephone, whenever the handset was lifted,
    it signaled the switchboard operator for requesting
    call connections manually.
