For auction is a striking piece of Australiana - a vintage copper vase from the 1950s made by Weeda  Tasmania.  This iconic 50s piece is in beautiful condition, the beaten copper having a high gloss satiny lustre which makes it a standout piece even without the fabulous shape.  There is no tarnish.  The 'beaten' finish of the wide base and stand contrasts with the textured finish of the stem and the smooth finish of the handle.  There is no damage at all, surprisingly for a piece this age, the only indication that it is not brand new being a few very faint rub marks on the copper - they have to be looked for.  Its condition would in some part be due to the fact that it is very strongly made.  Underneath the stand is the brand name of Weeda Tasmania.   

Measurements: 24 cm high, 15 cm at its widest diameter.
