Here we have a rather rare item:
A Roland HP-30 Piano Plus 30 Electronic Piano from early 1982.
This was one of the entry-level electric pianos from Roland. It features a 5 octave
keyboard and four sounds: 2 pianos and 2 harpsichords, with
a single built in mono speaker. It also has controls for volume and sustain
rate.
Unlike its bigger brothers the HP-60 and HP-70 the HP-30 also has a very nice little arpeggiator that operates on the lower two octaves,
with hold function, one, two or three octave range and up, down or up/down,
and variable rate settings.
Around the back it has 6.5mm phono sockets for mono output, headphones and a
sustain pedal (not included). This is a genuine Australian 240V model, not a
hacked around import.
The HP-30 DOES NOT have MIDI.
I also believe that the HP-30 shares quite a few components with the Juno-6
and Juno-60, including the push-buttons, toggle switches and keys (and
possibly the power supply). So I
guess this unit could be - heaven forbid! - used as a source of spares for a
Juno (hence the reference in the ad title!)
In excellent cosmetic condition. There are only a few minor
marks and barely noticeable scuffs on the top of the case. The wooden
end-plates have a few marks and very small chips to a couple of areas of the
veneer, but nothing major.
The photos on the right give a very good indication of the condition of the
unit. It's very hard to find one of the old keyboards in such good shape, as
they usually end up banged around and looking very worse for wear.
Fully tested and working.
This would be a great item for any Roland fan or vintage synth
collector.
