 Vintage sterling silver Siam sterling enamel Mekkala Goddess of Lightning pendant

    

This pretty piece is in good condition.

The pendant is marked to the back Siam Sterling. The front is enamelled in bright turquoise over a tooled backing. The dancer shown is from the story of Ramayama and is the figure Mekkala, the Goddess of lightning. This story is often seen in Niello ware and coloured enamel on silver. The piece has some deep scratches to the back of the top eyelet ring. Apart from this there is no damage to the piece. There are no repairs. The enamel is lovely and has no damage.

The pendant is 28mm across.

For North American users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
