DETAILS: In my collection this is a large box. But please, every one defines 'large' differently.
Here are the measurements. Be Sure To Check Them, Carefully And Make An Informed Decision
SIZE: Depth 1/2 of an inch...Length 1 and 1/2 an inch long... Width 1 inch (approx.) I do my best.
MORE DETAILS: Perfect. Smooth finish, Many light baby scratches from time and use. Very tarnished, (I think, that's
pretty, and I'm leaving it.) Polished, it would be reflective. No damage, dents, dings or mechanical deterioration.
The stone was clearly represented to me at the auction.
But...without an appraisal, I leave it to your eyes to decide.
The hinge is perfect and the box stays closed, when you close it.
After researching, PYX boxes, I found they come in a myriad of shapes and sizes.
I found that this size is within the range of true PYX 'ceremony'
I know, this is indeed a pyx box. But, please use your own judgement. Everyone has an opinion.
There are two hallmarks on the box, the numbers 925 on the interior wall of the box to identify the box as
solid sterling silver... and another hallmark that my eyes can not see..Elegant simple design, and a great collectors find.
