This stunning Victorian or early Edwardian velvet hatpin cushion is so beautiful, and in wonderful condition for it's age. In keeping with an item of this vintage it has wear, but is all structurally sound. It is a deep burgundy coloured velvet background, with small beads, sewn to represent a bird on leaves and the edge also has the same beads looped around the edge. It is quite weighty for it's size and stuffed with what feels like a straw type material. The back is plain velvet, with no decoration, so it will sit flat on a dressing table. Included are 14 various hatpins as found, but the real prize is this fabulous cushion. If you collect hatpins or vintage textiles, this beauty will delight, or this could be the start of that collection. Measurements are Width 22 cm Height 19 cm at the widest part and Depth about 7 cm.
