1950’s BUTTON PRESS.



This is a button covering machine from 1950 with all the paper work/receipts/instructions in tact. There is also a drawer full of button covering bits but also the owner’s pocket books and pieces of fabric. It’s a rather lovely piece of history and a small window of someone’s life in 1950. I wonder who Miss Eckersley was and how many buttons she covered? I would love this to go someone who will restore it and keep it as a button press. To be honest I bought it by mistake - I thought it was a bedside cabinet and didn’t realise the big metal thing on top was part of it! I have no idea if it works but I suspect it does as everything has been kept so carefully. You are very welcome to come and view it before bidding - please email me.

CONDITION – Heavy and in good condition. I have cleaned the paintwork but as you can see from the photos it is quite shabby.
