Vintage c 1950 mechanical See-Saw Birthday Card

Vintage – c 1950 – mechanical See-Saw Birthday Card with Animals, Mason’s Alpha Series.

This is a charming vintage birthday card (that dates from around 1950 or so I think, although it could be earlier) that features a squirrel and a rabbit on a See-Saw. The little wooden See-Saw is balanced over a mushroom that also has a little black bird sitting on it watching them. The card is mechanical as at the bottom there is a little tab with the word ‘Move’ printed on it. When you move the tab to the left or right it makes the See-Saw moving up and down it pretty much the correct action. Inside, the card has a printed verse and also a written greeting. The back tells us that it was printed in England as part of Mason’s Alpha Series, and it has the serial number B 503/1. Other than minimal signs of handling the card has no rips or scribbles etc and is in good clean condition over all.

It is impossible to be an expert in all realms of collecting, and I am honestly representing the item(s) to the best of my knowledge and ability. If the item has a fault then I have mentioned it. I ask that you read the description and examine the photos carefully. PACKAGING.    Please note that all of my items are well-packed in thick card or in boxes, and then wrapped in good quality brown paper.  I do not make any separate charge for packaging materials. Many of my feedback comments mention my good packaging and I will of course continue to meet my own standards.

POSTAL DISPUTE - I sell on eBay full-time and send out 50-80 items each week, on average.    I list my fixed price / shop items monthly. So far (as of October 9th) I have been lucky in that I do not know of any items that are held up in the localised disputes.   If - or rather as and when - the situation worsens, or if anybody is concerned about deliveries in their local area, I am more than happy to keep an item here and delay posting until you are happy.
