2GHz..11GHz WA5VJB Log Periodic PCB Antenna

On offer one new wideband Log Periodic antenna from Kent Britain WA5VJB.

It covers the range 2GHz to 11GHz, so is excellent for playing and testing in the 13cm, 9cm, 6cm and 3cm Ham bands, or for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. One previous customer mentioned his performed excellently to 20GHz, the limit of his sweeper.

The antennae are small (55mm x 55mm), fabricated on high quality 0.062"FR4 PCB (double-sided, PTH, tinned and silkscreened). They have an average gain of 6dBi and tech drawings are shown at http://www.wa5vjb.com/pcb-pdfs/LogPerio2000.pdf

Kent Britain is a well respected figure in the US Ham microwave scene and his antennas have long been recognized as innovative and effective. For example you can see one plugged into the W1GHZ portable power meter at www.w1ghz.org/new/portable_powermeter.pdf (figs 5,6).

As mentioned in my listing for an even higher frequency antenna, the Vivaldi, Kent has done some very nice work for the Ham world over the years. I'd certainly recommend reading his GaAsFET Preamp Cookbook at http://www.wa5vjb.com/references/preamp-Cookbook.pdf and Low-Cost VHF/UHF Yagi document at http://www.wa5vjb.com/yagi-pdf/cheapyagi.pdf.

I found some of these during packing. They were purchased directly from WA5VJB a year or two back, so you can be sure they're the real deal ...

RFPlus is now well settled in to his cosy nook down here in Cornwall - and with the Postal Strike averted (Ya-hay!!!) it's time to start on some new listings. I've discovered several boxes from previous projects, most parts now being surplus to my needs, and with the ever present need for cashflow it's time to liberate them here on Ebay.
