WALKER'S UNIVERSAL ATLAS, FOR THE USE OF SCHOOLS London, Barnard (pubs.) 1823

This is a fabulous old book of maps, I believe first published in 1806. The hard cover is marbled, and the binding is coming slightly loose at the front. The maps are in excellent condition.

As you can see from the frontispiece, this book was originally published for use in schools. There are 28 maps, which, I have read`elsewhere, are coloured in watercolour (I cannot vouch for the truth of this). However, a brief search of the internet will show you that a single map from this book is on sale for in the vicinity of $150.00
