A RARE FIND AND GORGEOUS!!!

WMF - WURTTEMBERGISCHE METALLWARENFABRIK, IKORA SILVERPLATED FOOTED TRAY LIKE  BOWL, in very very good condition for it's age.

Art Deco WMF Ikora Tray - Pearlized Silver Plated. Has the WMF STAMP ON THE BACK OF THE TRAY NEAR ONE OF THE BALL LEGS. TOO SMALL TO PICK UP WITH A PHOTO.

Circa; 1925-1930

Lovely vintage Ikora finish silver plate bowl. This hollowware bowl is tarnish-resistant made by world famous WMF. 

The pattern is satin alternating with a smooth silver. Measures 12” long, 7 7/8” wide and 2 1/8" deep.
There are 4 round ball feet. Still has the WMF, #431 and Ikora silver and red labeling stating TARNISH - RESISTANT

There are 2 small wear spots on the silver and a couple very minor scratches.

WMF - WURTTEMBERGISCHE METALLWARENFABRIK: HISTORY
In 1853, Daniel Straub, a miller from Geislingen, joined forces with the Schweizer Brothers to form the "Metallwarenfabrik Straub & Schweizer" in Geislingen.
As of 1925, products created by the Contemporary Decorative Products Department (NKA) made their debut on the market. This department was set up under the direction of Hugo Debach in order to establish the name of WMF amongst consumers interested in art and design. This department was responsible for producing the special "Ikora" finish, which has earned an important place in the annals of art history. The "Ikora" brand name referred to a specific method of treating the surface of the metal, by which layers of coating were applied in a partly chemical and partly heat induced process. A host of newly developed hand-finishing techniques enhanced the possibilities for adding decorative flourishes to the products. Despite being mass produced, every item looked as if it had been individually crafted.
IKORA is a production line of WMF realized in 1927 by its NKA - Neue Kunstgewerbliche Abteilung (New Art-Commercial Department) under the direction of Hugo Debach, collector and passionate of Asian Art.

 I am not a silver or silverplate expert so, I am just going by what I see and others that I find online.

I BELIEVE THIS WAS FROM MY MOTHER IN LAWS MOTHER'S SIDE OF THE FAMILY.

I AM GOING THRU MY MOTHER IN LAW'S HOME & ESTATE (WHICH WAS LIKE A TIME CAPSULE, SHE WAS 95 WHEN SHE PASSED AWAY THANKSGIVING 2008) AND I WILL BE AUCTIONING A TON OF DEPRESSION GLASS, COPPER WARE, STERLING SILVER, ANTIQUE TOASTERS, LAMPS, CLOISONNE, OCCUPIED JAPAN ITEMS, VINTAGE LINENS & DOILIES, BED LINENS, CLOTHES, ANTIQUE CLAW FOOT TABLES AND MUCH, MUCH MORE.
