My parents operated a large gemstone business in Melbourne named 'Minex'. Over the years many treasures were collected and saved. My father now feels it is time to let these special pieces go & regularly brings me a bucket of his treasures that he kept from stock & asks me to clear them on eBay. We will be offering items regularly until (many, many buckets) are cleared (probably 20 years!!). I am a practicing gemologist & operate a college of natural therapies, I have authored several books & teach esoteric gemmology. I am delighted to share these lovely pieces with you.

Here's the general book auctions info:  I've had a bit of a clean up and we have so many books and related (new age & gemmological) items, so I'm listing them in several auctions (any that do not sell will be relisted - as store inventory within a few days of ending).

Over the years we have amassed 100's of gems, collectables & books - whilst I love them all (& they are fascinating) it's time for some to find a new home. Some are brand new from our showroom - others are from our personal collection and may have some general usage marks on them (any questions, please ask before bidding)

 

As books are quite heavy - the postal rates may be high (in Melbourne metro we can get up to 20kgs for $10 combined). Pop some more in your purchases to save on shipping costs.

• This is an escape to the past. I remember tie-dying t-shirts in the backyard with friends. How about macrame and all those holders for hanging baskets you made?   This book is a time-trip to the 1970's and though I have pleasant thoughts of things I made I didn't get this for me. My twenty-something daughter loves the funky look of that period and this book has it all. It is in black and white but the instructions are very easy- you just need to find the supplies. It includes candle-making, crochet, leather crafts, embroidery, pottery, beads, weaving, tie-dying and batik, silkscreen, macrame and home recording.

  Wood stock provided the incentive for Jean Young to write this book. It is actually an aggregate from many authors that specialize in each craft. The book is divided into 11 distinct chapters, each on a different craft (skill). I use the term skill as the term craft has lost a great deal of meaning these days. These skills are candles, crochet, organic leather, embroidery, pottery, home recording, beads, weaving, tie die - baktik, silkscreen, and macramé. The home recording can be in a museum, the other skills are timeless.
  
  The book has b & w photographs and diagrams with a Woodstock motif. It is a must for your library and for those embarrassing questions.
