Das Ehrenkreuz des Weltkrieg was established on July 13, 1934 by General Feldmarshal von Hindenburg (therefore it is also known as the Hindenburg Cross). This beautiful German Cross commemorates those who served and fell during the Great War, it was introduced as a way to reinforce pride in German WW1 Veteran's.
On auction is the rare Combattant grade cross with crossed Swords, awarded only to the German soldier's that actually fought on the front lines in combat during WW1, hallmarked (makers marked) on the rear " AD.BL "
There are three different classes of this German decoration, Combatant, Non-Combatant and Widows Cross.
