WEAVING
with the

RIGID HEDDLE LOOM

Anne Field

Looms come in many shapes and sizes, but the Rigid Heddle Loom is
the simplist and most versatile of all.  For the beginner who needs to
concentrate on weaving patterns without the problem of operating
comlecated apparatus, it is the ideal starting point.  Now, thanks to
this book, the Rigid Heddle Loom can be the tool of the more advanced
weaver.
After years of teaching and experimenting with weaving, Anne Field has
devised patterns that have previously been limited to mweavers using
large and expensive four shift looms.  Many of these patterns are outlined
here.  There are instructions for more than thirty techniques, from the
simplets plain weaves to richly-varied patterns which invite the eye and
are a pleasure to weave: checks, plaids, tapestry, Spanish lace, soumak
... these are only a fewn examples.

More than 150 photographs and drawings clearly illustrate the patterns
and skills involved.  There arfe also 21 colour plates showing a variety of
projects that may be copied by the reader or used as inspiration for
original designs.

For teachers and students, beginners and advanced weavers, this book
is an essential guide to a fascinating craft.
