This is a handmade traditional belt we purchased during our travels in Mexico. It was purchased from the village of San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. It is made by the Mayan women from the surrounding villages who come into town to trade or sell their items. These are beautiful traditional belts I thought looked good enough to wear back in Australia.

They can be adapted to a variety of uses. The images show the belt worn in more traditional style and one image of it with a simple summer dresses just under the bust line and they look great. They could also be worn on the hips or waist with a skirt or jeans. There is also a close up image of the material so you can see how beautiful and fine the work is. Many have glitter lines loomed through them. Please note that the images showing the belt being worn are not the actual belt you are bidding on. The belt you are bidding on is shown in the main item image and in the close up image.

All the belts are long and are made to wrapped several times. They are tied together by the colourful braids at the end and they look fantastic! You won't see many people wearing such belts and I only have a few to sell of varying colours and sizes.

FAIR TRADE: All our items were purchased direct from the artisans. Know that in purchasing this item it is authentic and the money goes back directly to the indigenous Mayan people of Chiapas. We always pay full price for the artwork and do not bargain.

Payment:

Please make contact or complete checkout within 3 days of auction close. We would appreciate payment within 7 days. If you are having troubles full filling your end of the auction agreement, please just email us and let us know your intentions. All problems can be sorted out simply with communication between the buyer and seller. Payment via direct debit is preferred but all payment methods are accepted!

Shipping:

We are always happy to combine shipping costs on multiple items and to post internationally. Please contact us when you have completed your purchases to get your postage discount. All our items are shipped via Australia post usually with 24hrs of receiving payment. Where possible, all our items are shipping in recycled bubble wrap, post packs and envelopes. This saves you money on packaging charges and is great for the environment. Never do we skimp on packaging though. All items are packaged with the utmost care to ensure they arrive to you in good order.
