Please Note that my Liquor Licence allows me to sell ONLY on Ebay. Wolf Blass Black Label 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon has actually also a small amount of Shiraz and Merlot . It is a wonderful wine as usual for Wolf Blass. This is 3.0 litres ie a Magnum. It comes in a beautiful Black Box. This wine won a Jimmy Watson Trophy. You could buy this one and put it on your Bar - I would recommend drinking it first. This wine is 14% alc/vol and should keep for another 10 years but I recommend you enjoy it now. There is no need to decanter although it may be easier to pour for it does weigh a good 6kg .
Good luck with bidding on this one.
Visit my store to see all the wines listed for Auction under the category wine; I will have more bottles of wine for sale very soon.
Alfred's Homestead is a Fully Licensed Restaurant. Over the last 23 years Alfred's Homestead has offered Restaurant customers a huge variety of wines to enjoy with their beautiful Smorgasbord. In the early days it was not uncommon for a couple to sit and enjoy at least 2 bottles of wine with their smorgasbord.Today with drink driving laws most couples would stick to a couple of glasses with at most 1 bottle. Every effort has been made to provide the best of wines in the market and at the best price. Our cellar in the early days had at least 350 different bottles of wine. In those days wine lovers had a feast for they could purchase to drink with their meals great wines indeed. Many at times begged to pay to take home a wine that they knew was no longer available in the market place. Over the years we have stocked up on good wines and we now have quite a number of good vintage wines. That is, wines that you really cannot buy in the liquor shop. We have wines that are over 20 years old and still drinkable. Over the years we have noted that some of the reds get a little lighter in colour and definitely smoother to drink - and, the whites seem to get a little golden in colour. Overall we have found the old whites have aged better than the old reds. It is not uncommon to have a big white develop beautiful butter like qualities with age. We recall certain wines we found difficult to drink when young and after 10 years or so in the bottle they mellowed and achieved the most pleasant qualities. Some wines have too much wood flavour such as Grange Hermitage.Time is important to enable the tannins to soften a little and enable the wine fruit to come to the front. The reds we have that are highly wooded have certainly improved with age. We also have some heavy wooded whites that are now drinking superb. Our Licence that allows us to sell on Ebay does NOT ALLOW a buyer to come to Alfred's Homestead and pick up the wine.Unfortunately every wine offered for sale on Ebay will need to be paid by PayPal- COD is definitely NOT permitted by our new licence. If you happen to visit the Restaurant you can pay for your wines with Cash or Credit card but you cannot PICK UP the wines bought to take home from our Restaurant. All wines sold on EBAY need to be posted by registered mail or delivered to your personal Address and must be received by a person who is 18 years or over.We cannot sell to any person who is underage ie under 18.We cannot accept Bank Transfer since under 18 year old persons can hold a Bank Account. You do need to be over 18 to register for PayPal and so it seems that PayPal should be the ONLY method of Paying; so ,we will not need to obtain any documentation of proof of age. Again ,I repeat, we cannot allow PICK UP of the wine purchased - all wine must be delivered and must be received by a person who is over 18 years of age. Our Liquor License Number that enables us to sell on Ebay is: 36114263 Below is a Copy of our Licence . Please note the restriction that all wines must be delivered - NO PICKUP.
