What is it and what is it for?
This is a Wyse thin-client terminal. It will connect to an RDP (Windows terminal) or ICA (Citrix) server.
See here for more detailed information
What is included?
It is a complete setup of one of these Winterm 1200LE terminals with:
- the 1200LE terminal (with see-through casing - very cute!)
- power supply (original DVE model) including IEC cord
- USB keyboard (original Wyse? KU-8933) - has PS/2 socket for mouse.
- PS/2 mouse (Wyse)
There's no monitor, but any VGA-connected monitor (CRT or LCD) should work OK.
My photos usually show the complete contents of what is included in the auction. If you think something else that's not shown should be included, don't assume it is. Contact me via this site and ask before bidding.
The photo is of an item identical to that in this sale, but may not be the actual one I send you. It will not be any inferior to the photo.
If you're bidding internationally, note that any power cord/adaptor etc will be a standard Australian type. If this is a problem, contact me before bidding.
Condition
Cosmetic
Cosmetically, this is in good condition. It's not new so there are a few scratches, scuffs and marks on it but they aren't really very visible. There may be remnants of labels on it. Of course, none of this affects its operation.
Functional
Functionally, I have tested it by powering it up, resetting to factory defaults, and connecting to an RDP (ie Windows terminal) server.
I'm not really an expert on these things so don't assume that I've told you everything important about it. I'm certainly not hiding anything but I mightn't necessarily know what is important to you. Please ask questions before bidding.
I'll give a 7-day DOA warranty. If it doesn't work 100%, I'll refund your money (less the postage) and pay for postage to return it. I can only offer this to buyers within Australia, but if an International buyer has a problem, I'm happy to negotiate.
Detailed information about the item
The CPU is 233MHz. It's got 32MB RAM. It's running system version 4.4.010i.
There's ports for:
Power (AC adaptor included)
2 x USB (1 used for keyboard)
VGA video
Ethernet (100BT)
Mic / headphone

Note about PayPal payments and shipping options
Due to recent PayPal rule changes, they now require that all items paid by PayPal be sent via a method that includes proof of postage and some level of tracking.
The minimum method for domestic shipping is Registered Post.
For International shipping, it is Registered Post International.
If you contact me beforehand and agree that PayPal buyer and seller protection will not apply, we may be able to find a cheaper method.
For PayPal payments, domestic Express Post is not permitted.
For other payment methods all shipping options are available. |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Enter your Australian postcode or country in the calculator below to calculate total shipping costs for this item.
Due to recent PayPal rule changes, if you pay using this method, Express Post will not be available, and Registered Post will be required. Registered Post International is $7 more than the Air Mail postage cost shown above if the package is >500g. If it is lighter than this, please contact me for pricing before bidding.
See more detailed postage conditions below.
If postage is a significant amount, and you're paying by PayPal or another method that incurs costs, I'll need to ensure that the amount I actually receive for postage covers the costs. In such a case, please contact me before bidding to determine the amount.
Postage costs can be combined on multiple items.
Payment
You can pay by
- direct deposit via Internet transfer (preferred method for Australian buyers)
- PayPal (preferred method for International buyers, accepted for Australian buyers if you have no alternative - contact me before bidding if you want to be able to use this method of payment). Note that I will generally accept PayPal for Buy-it-Now purchases of $30 and over. Registered Post (or equivalent) is required - see above.
- cheque on an Australian bank (but we'll have to wait until it clears before shipping - usually takes a week, even for bank cheques),
- Australian Money order,
- Australia Post COD (Australia only – buyer must have eBay rating >10 – buyer pays all fees) (not for fixed postage)
- pick up locally (Brisbane)
or any other method agreeable to both of us. Any payment method must be in Australian dollars, negotiable in Australia.
This is a private sale, so no GST is involved.
General conditions
International buyers are responsible for any customs duty, etc. I'll describe the item accurately on the customs declaration. You'll also need to confirm, before you bid, that the item is permitted to be imported.
Due to some bad experiences, I have had to block bidders from a couple of countries. If you find yourself in this situation, and you're serious, contact me and, if your rating is OK, I'll make the appropriate arrangement so you can bid.
If your eBay rating is 5 or less, please contact me before bidding. If you don't, I may cancel your bid.
Happy bidding. As always, don't bid unless you want to buy it. I always leave feedback (positive or negative).
Any questions, please contact me via this site.
OK ….. here’s the deal ….
What do I expect from you?
If you win the auction, I expect you to contact me within 3 days and arrange to pay within 7 days. I need you to provide me with a correct address for me to send the item. When you get the item and you’re happy with it, I’d appreciate feedback on the eBay site.
What can you expect from me?
I value my eBay rating and I have every intention of providing good value for you. I recognize that you’ve only seen a photo and read my description of the stuff you’re buying. I’m sure there are odd cases where I have omitted to put in something that you may consider important but I’ve just forgotten or maybe didn’t realize was important. You’ll only find this out when you get the stuff.
If there is some unforeseen discrepancy between what you’ve expected and what you get, I’ll usually refund your money. If it’s obviously my fault, I’ll also refund your postage. If it’s worthwhile, I’ll also pay for you to send it back. Note that this only applies to “unforeseen discrepancies”, i.e. it doesn’t cover things that were in the item description, or could be seen in the photo.
I’ll leave feedback on the eBay site for you. If all goes as well as it nearly always does, it will be positive. Only if someone doesn’t pay would I usually leave anything negative.
Shipping costs and details
The following applies unless I have specified shipping costs as being fixed (usually only within Australia). At the end of the auction, when I know your postcode, I’ll estimate the postage based on my measurements of weight and size of the parcel (as in the item description). I’ll add any handling charges and tell you how much it is likely to be. This will be based on best estimates. Sometimes, when I get to the Post Office, they’ll charge me slightly more or less. If it’s more, I’ll wear it. If it’s less, I’ll offer you a refund if the difference makes this worthwhile. If I know upfront, I'll send it in stamps with the item. If I find out after it's been packed, I'll transfer the money if it's above about $2.
I'll try to get the best pricing for postage (on your behalf) and that may sometimes mean that I need to slightly deface the packing (box, etc) of the item, for example by putting packing tape or an address label on it. If you want to keep the packing looking as pristine as possible (for example, if you plan to resell it, or give it as a gift), please tell me if you buy it and I'll pack it differently. Packing or postage costs may be slightly different in this case. Again, please ask first if this is likely to be a problem.
