She turned her back to him, and Cord felt a wrenching pain in his gut. God! He had never meant to hurt her. "Faith?"

She whirled to face him, and instead of the tears Cord had expected, he saw the light of triumph in her eyes. "You want me as badly as I want you, Cord McCamy. You just proved it."
