This is a 2001 model R6. It has a full akropovic exhaust system and has been dyno'ed at 100bhp, and still runs well now although is a little cranky to warm up if I havent ridden her for a while as you would expect of any carby bike. As you can see from the pictures, this bike has been converted to a street fighter, including being fully stripped and rebuilt with a powdercoated black frame, swing arm, sub frame and fork legs. The paint will certainly turn some heads, I must admit it has mixed reacts with some loving and some hating, but its unique which is why I like it. It also has a twin headlight which is all the rage these days and some aftermarket clips, mirrors, indicators and braided brake lines.
The only thing I can really thing of wrong with this bike is that it is missing the little lever that holds the choke open, instead when warming it up you just pull out and hold it open for like 15-20 seconds and she is good to go. Its a small part you could get from the wreckers, I just got used to it and never bothers replacing it.
Clearly this may not be the bike for everyone, so I have tried to factor this into the price. The bike has a pretty strong motor with good km's on it, and I estimate it would cost $1500 to return to original condition as you can get the kits that have all the fairings in for pretty cheap these days, plus paint the tank (and sticker it up), headlights and stay etc. Redbook values this model at $6-7,100, with bikes listed on bikesales as $7-11,500. Hence I have gone middle of the road and tried to factor in returning to standard and rego which runs out next month. Hopefully you will agree!
