Yashica-A 6x6 120 TLR Camera

This lovely-looking camera will suit a  collector yet is still very useable as a day-to-day camera. You can no doubt locate this model cheaper, but to find them in this condition is another matter.

This model has the 3-element Yashimar f/3.5 lens and a Copal  shutter with speeds from 1/25 sec to 1/300 plus B and it has X sync. The Yashica A was made in both grey and black models - this is the black one of course.

There are no dents, scratches or paint loss on the body. The lenses have no scratches, marks, internal dust or fungus. The focus is smooth as is the operation of the waist level finder. Apertures, speeds working just as they should.

It was December 1949 when the  Yashima Seiki Company was formed with an initial investment of just $566 and Yashica started business in Nagano, Japan making electric clock parts. They branched into camera components and by 1953 had changed name to Yashima Optical Industry Company, Ltd. and released their first complete camera, the Yashimaflex, a 6x6cm twin lens reflex.
