Here's a seldom-seen example of the classic Yashica Electro 35 series - the MC. This camera is tiny - the smallest of the Electros. It is a scale-focus camera and has an incredibly sharp little 40mm 2.8 lens. The overall condition is excellent, although it is missing the black plastic tip on the advance lever. When it works for me, it's very easy to use and produces pictures every bit as sharp and well exposed as those from larger Electros. Really impressive performance.


Unfortunately, recently, the camera is acting up. The green battery light comes on fine, and the shutter works, and the shutter speed usually changes in response to different light intensities. However, the exposure is off, and sometimes it sounds like the shutter is only firing at one speed regardless of light. Could be an easy fix, could be something difficult - I'm not sure and don't have the time to mess around with it.


This would make a great parts camera - the lens is clear and clean, with no oil on the shutter or aperture blades. The leatherette is nice, the chrome tops and bottoms are nice. The first photo makes it appear that there may be a scratch on the lens - that's just lint and the front and back elements are perfect. Due to operating condition, sold as-is. Thanks!
