Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta IV Carl Zeiss 75mm f3.5 Tessar 6x6 120 medium format folding bellows camera with coupled rangefinder. For a user, not a collector. When I bought this camera 2 years ago, it came CLA'd by Jurgen Kreckel (Certo 6) in the USA. After using it for a while, the winding knob broke off. I had it fixed by The Camera Clinic in Melbourne. They machined a new thread & turned the knob upside-down to fit the new screw. It's now much stronger than it ever was. I bought this camera to use it, not to sit on a shelf. I'm not using it much anymore, so I want to pass it on to someone who will. It may not look so desirable with the flipped winding knob, but it is solid & reliable. Cosmetically, it's in beautiful condition. No scratches, chips or damage. Leatherette is intact. A few areas of paint loss to the black lacquered edges. Focus is smooth & accurate. Speeds are accurate. Viewfinder is a bit dim & hazy - this could be cleaned, but it's never bothered me. Rangefinder patch is contrasty. Bellows is light tight. The selenium meter does not respond, which is normal for this model at it's age. Use a hand held light meter, or guess. The lens has mild separation in the rear element - this is a common occurrence in these models & has never effected image quality. Otherwise, the lens is clean & clear with a beautiful blue coating. You'll get slight overlapping of frames - the film advance mechanism was made for film of the time, which had thicker backing paper. For such a compact unit, the quality it produces is superb, equal to a Hasselblad 80mm of the same era. Please buy it & enjoy using it!
