while i was gathering change, i did a double take when i saw this coin. i saw this face staring back at me. i'm not sure if the image is the result of one night spilling water on my desk, then throwing the wet coins into a tin that i keep for loose coin, and the residue left the image, or if i've just had this coin for a while, and just noticed it, but i couldn't believe my eyes. it looks like rust or oil. i did not fabricate this, nor produce the image myself. familiar with conan o'briens state quarters? they may be funny, but he doesn't have an image of jesus on a nickel! i do not have a macro lens camera, so these pictures are with my digital and the best i could take focusing so closely. i know it sounds pretty crazy, and it is! i always laughed at the other people who claimed to see jesus in peculiar places, and now i'm one of them. i posted a photo on facebook, and my friends told me that i should try to sell it. i was reluctant, but hey, if jesus is showing up on banana peels and tree trunks, why not a nickel? plus, this won't disintegrate over time. i believe in god, and in being honest and would not in any way insult anyone with a lie, nor scam. i will gladly donate some of the profits of this coin to my favorite catholic church in my neighborhood if sold, for that would be the right thing to do. furthermore, if the person who buys the coin decides and continues to profit from it, it would be my wish that part of those proceeds are donated to the disabled/paralyzed veterans of america and/or veterans hospitals. i believe that everything happens for a reason, and even if i don't sell this coin, perhaps it is just a reminder for me to stay strong and keep faith. i think it is worth every penny, or nickel, however you want to see it.
