The Tooth brewery produced thousands of glass artworks that hung on the outsides of NSW hotels for decades. It commissioned painters from 1929 to the 1950s to paint these, including some well-known artists like Tom Woodman and Alan Baker. The original glass pictorial was painted in the 1940s. Baker, a keen golfer who lived near this course, painted this scene. This reprint from the original was made in 1983 and its image size is 850mm (33") by 570mm (23") approximately. As with all these pictorials, they were not exactly true, being painted to fit brickwork that was not perfectly straight by artists more concerned with the painting than its borders. This poster is one of 22 i have reproduced.. The other sport ones are cricket, rowing, tennis and boxing and there are five rugby league ones - souths v st george, easts v newtown, balmain v newtown, wests and australia v great britain.
