INTRODUCTION:
Optical mice have come a long way since their introduction before the end of the last millenium. Technology has fine tuned and polished them down to devices such as these. Of all the other models available that were offered to us, we have selected to sell this mouse for 3 main reasons:
1. Its an incredible time saver; especially for laptop users: Say Goodbye to the No #1 Hassle of laptop mice that is winding up cables, and recharging optical wireless mice with batteries that drain power like crazy and die off while you work. This mouse has a high speed auto-retractable cable that is really easy to use. You can extend it to over 70cm in less than 1 second and retract just as fast: You get the storage convenience and portability of wireless mice without horrible lifespan and weight issues, this is one of the best mice for laptops that we can think of..

2. No Reduction in High Quality 800dpi 3D Optical circuitry and Performance: The standard high quality 3D Optical Mouse circuitry of the world's optical mice community has been shrunk down in size into this tiny device without compromising 800dpi precision quality and response rates that you can expect from most larger modern 3D Optical computer mice from most major brands that might cost anywhere up to $40.00. This mouse comes with 3 buttons (left right and centre) and even managed to fit in a scroll wheel ! (Some other large mice don't even have a scroll wheel!). It also has something many other mice don't have - a built in faraday cage (details below)

3. Incredibly light and compact: just 24 grams,Far smaller and thinner than most computer mice, it takes next to no effort to move the 24 gram mouse at all, allowing for excellent response rates and high precision while being able to fit into those slimline laptop bags of the world's newest and elegant laptops. (its really small and easy to use)

General Overview
This is a beautiful computer mouse, nicely mirror plated and polished to reflect its refined circuitry. Standing out like a drop of silver in a room of multiple light sources, it clearly reflects the natural beauty of the ambient light environment like a gem, and is bound to draw the attention of your friends and colleagues without sucking your laptop battery dry with colourful LED displays that other mice may have.
Why not give your laptop or computer a wonderful addition that it deserves?
Optical mice have come a long way since the heavier and bulkier trackball mice and offer better response and precision compared to most of their older counterparts. They benefit its users by being lightweight, more accurate and being less prone to errors caused by dust that may collect on trackballs etc. 800dpi is a industry standard for most optical mice.
Without relying on trackballs, optical mice can also be used upside down, or in space or in a zero gravity environment if you get there as long as you have a grip of the mousepad/surface it is tracking.

Retractable Cable
As mentioned above, this mouse comes with a special intelligent auto-winding and retractable cable that allows for incredibly quick storage which is an absolute time saver. . The cable can be locked at any of 5 lengths very easily (The 5 lock-points are at 20.5cm, 35.5cm, 49.5cm, 62.5cm and 74cm respectively. Detailed and easy instructions on how to use the cable are stated further below.

Optical Technology, Permanent
Anti-Shock - Solid State Sensor
Highly accurate and lightweight with excellent response times, the device comes with a Red LED that assists the sensor on the base of the mouse to track its movement.
Unlike
the mice and pointing devices of the past, this mouse has no moving parts in the optical sensor mechanisms that could easily fail over time from dust or wear or affect performance. The mouse buttons and scroll wheel are the only exception, but they have the expected lifespan as any standard button key on your keyboard, and will last a very long time. Therefore, you can use the device effectively on the move, or even upside down.

Value
For Money
This is a very affordable mouse, and is good value for its size and performance.

Built-in Natural EMF Shielding Capability
If you have some knowledge in physics, you would be right to guess that the metallic paint acts as an effective faraday cage, shielding your mouse circuitry from a large percentage of background microwave radiation and static that can damage your mouse and interfere with its performance, especially when the mouse is capable of such high sensitivity and accuracy. This would be an ability that is not available in many other mice without metallic paint, especially those that use large sections of see through plastic.
If you accidently put your mouse in a Microwave oven, you can be rest assured it'll probably survive longer compared to other mice that would instantly 'burn out'. However, expect the paintwork to be damaged pretty badly even if it survives the microwave oven. For the sake of the effort put into making this mouse, don't try this at home on purpose!.

Suitable surfaces it can be used on
The optical mouse works by scanning the differences in surfaces it moves over. So theoretically, the mouse can be used on mostly any solid surface, rhough or smooth as long as it has some form of texture that distinguishes one millimeter of its surface from the millimeter of surface beside it. The surface must also be able to reflect a small amount of light back to the sensor on the mouse.. We have tested the mouse with rhough and smooth tables and office desks, standard mousepads, clothing, human skin, reflective kitchen grade aluminium foil (both sides) and even 4mm thick transparent glass (as long as there is a scannable surface beneath the glass). This mouse won't work on clear and smooth transparent material that is thicker than 4mm or doesn't have a suitable scannable material beneath it. It doesn't work on mirrors either.
We have tested it to work with smooth frosted glass and aluminium foil because there are slight differences at the microscopic level which the mouse can sense and use as points to track its movement. |

Generally Low
Power Consumption
Unlike other
mice with fancy lights that drain laptop battery power, this tiny device doesn't waste your battery life without reason. It drains very little power(Less than half a watt (0.5 watts), which goes towards lighting the red LED for the sensor mechanism. When its not in use, the device saves power by dimming its light down just enough to detect when you have moved it, and lights up once again, ready for use immediately. Its little different from other non-fancy 3D optical mice. |

3D Movement
:Like most modern mice, this mouse comes with the standard 2 dimensional forward, backward, left and right movement range, as well as an up and down scrolling range to complement the 3rd dimension. |

3 Buttons
Left mouse button, Right mouse button, and the scroll wheel acts as the Centre mouse button- just press the scroll wheel down as you would any button.

IBM PC (Windows, & Linux) Compatible
As long as your computer has a USB port, it is compatible with all major operating
systems on a PC/IBM computer. WINDOWS 98/98SE/ME/2000/XP/2003/Vista, and LINUX kernel 2.4 or later Operating Systems! It is usually plug and play
and may only require a driver to be installed for Windows 98 operating systems. The only operating system its not compatible with may be Macintosh. But we never tried so we won't really know for sure whether it works with Macintosh/Apple computers.. (Its the operating system that counts, because some Macintosh computers can run windows and use this mouse) |

How
do i use it?
In
simple terms, for first time users, the device is a Plug and play device , which means most computers these days have the drivers and software needed to operate this mouse.
The cable can be locked at any of 5 lengths very easily (The 5 lock-points are at 20.5cm, 35.5cm, 49.5cm, 62.5cm and 74cm respectively)
Lets begin by extending the cable:
Hold onto the USB plug with one hand, and use your other hand to hold onto the mouse. Pull them apart till the cable is at the desired length and slowly bring the USB port and the mouse together. It will quickly auto lock at the first available lock point, and you no longer have to keep pulling to keep it at that length. The cable will remain at that length without any rubber band effect.

Now simply connect the USB plug
to a spare USB port on the computer; The computer will detect the device and install
the drivers required to access the device. If you are using windows 98, the computer will prompt you
to install a driver via CD rom if necessary (only required for windows 98 - contact us if you require a driver) The computer will indicate the device has been installed and after that, the red light at the base of your mouse should light up and you should be able to use your device immediately with no hassles.
You can also go to the control panel to adjust the mouse sensitivity, speed, pointer type, pointer trails and even reverse the buttons as necessary to suit your requirements etc
When you are done using your mouse, you can leave it as it is, or you can disconnect the USB plug from the computer and pack it away (eg; if you need to store it in a laptop bag)
If you wish to store the mouse, you should retract the cable.
To retract the cable, simply hold the mouse with one hand and the usb plug with the other hand and pull them apart slightly till you will hear a click which indicates it has unlocked. Then controllably bring the USB plug and the mouse together and the winding mechanism will automatically retract the cable back to zero length. Do it at a safe speed - 1 seconds is a slow enough to prevent unnecessary damage to the cable; don't let it 'snap' back). Simple as that!
Important Notes:
1) Don't hold onto the Centre Cable Reel, it is meant to move Freely and dispense cable in both directions of itself. Pulling on one end unevenly will cause the reel to Jam 'permanently', and you may have to unscrew it and use it as a normal mouse for its remainder lifespan.
2) Don't release the USB cable such that it snaps back to zero length like a released rubber band in a split second- it might damage the cable quickly. Control the retraction over about 1 second.
Occupational Health and Safety
People have different hands and slightly different anatomy from each other, as well as different beliefs towards keyboards and mice.
Standard Warning regarding your health and safety: Some 'experts' say that the use of any keyboard or mouse may cause serious injury. Whether you want to believe it is up to you, but for our computer mice, we can give some general advice and recommendations; eg: keep your shoulders relaxed with your elbows at your side, position your keyboard and mouse so you don't have to constantly reach out to use them; adjust your chair, keyboard and mouse so your wrists are not resting on sharp edges; when moving the mouse, move your forearm instead of twisting your wrist left and right; keep your wrist relaxed and straight -- don't bend it up, down, or to either side; and most importantly, be alert to signs of discomfort. If you find using the mouse is uncomfortable, we recommend you take a rest and stop using it. You may like to modify your hand position in the future (eg: You can try positioning your hand in a more comfortable position- sometimes we find that placing all 5 fingers at the same level on the mouse can help prevent discomfort, or just let some fingers sit freely on the mousepad without grasping the mouse. If in doubt, stop using the device and consult a health professional for advice. For more information you can also do a search online about ergonomics and occupational health and safety.

Our
opinion about its features
Good points: Beautiful, stylish and extremely convenient with no loss of precision and response time quality for its size,
Bad points? : Unless you accidentally wreck the cable reel by ignoring the instructions, or if you find its size a problem getting used to, theres no real problems that we know of. Its a simple device, and we find it not too small to hold. Kids may like it for its size and its light enough to control with just 2 fingers on a generally smooth mousepad or tabletop. However, we don't recommend you use any computer mouse for prolonged periods of time (eg: over 1-3 hours) due to occupational health and safety risks regarding ergonomics and posture etc. But everyone’s different, and you and your health professional probably know what suits you best.
