| Genuine Holden Cold Air Intake System for VN VP VR VS V8 A cold air intake is a system used to bring down the temperature of air going into an engine for the purpose of increasing the power. A secondary purpose of the cold air intake is to increase the under bonnet appeal of your car by changing the appearance of the engine bay and creating an attractive intake noise. Thirdly,
positive pressure can be generated in the cold air intake and tests
have shown that, at high speed, a good cold air intake can easily have
sufficient air pressure within it to completely cancel the flow
restriction of the air cleaner. This is also a worthwhile gain and eliminates the need for high flow air filter elements. The cold air intake takes the cool air from the front of the vehicle, isolating it from the high under bonnet engine temperatures. Being directly connected to the engine intake, the cold air intake flows this cool directly to the engine lowering the engine combustion temperature. This results in increased engine efficiency and thus, improved performance and economy. The surface area of the cold air intake system we supply is more than adequate to supply positive pressure and will flow up to 30% more air over and above the standard intake. The
inlet surface area of this cold air intake is as good as anything else
on the market. It more durable than the after market fibreglass
version and will not lose its shape. Used in conjunction with a performance chip (see seller's other items) you will receive the single best gains in performance and economy for the least amount spent. Any other modifications you do will result in major costs and minimal gains.
We recommend the intakes be used with the genuine Holden air filter
which can be supplied for a further $15 with any purchase. You do not
need expensive air filter elements nor should you use then as they do

narrower bonnet line of the VN and VP, the passenger side corner of the cold air
intake will need to be modified to to fit these models. This involves
cutting the corner of the cold air intake. Full instructions on how
to do this are supplied in our installation instructions. We can also
supply the cold air intake pre-modified upon request. The
lower airbox base also requires modification for all models. This
involves enlarging the existing intake hole of the lower airbox base to
accommodate the connecting piece. It is a simple operation using a
hacksaw and knife. Full instructions are also included. CCompatible airbox bases can be supplied to avoid modifications upon request for a extra $38.00. This will also alter the postage to $18.95. No modifications required to cold air intake for the VR and VS apart from connection to the base. All modifications are included in instructions. Installation available for local pick up buyers for a fee of $20. Free installation when your cold air intake is purchased with a performance memcal/chip. Street legal.
