about the pan
Our dutch pancake pans are made from long lasting, easy to maintain, cast iron. The pans cook perfectly on gas, electric hot plate, ceramic stove or the bbq. You can even take it camping! Although, beware because everyone can smell them cooking!
This is a 15 cup, brand new pan. Each cup is approximately 2cm deep and 4cm in diameter. The entire pan is 22cm in diameter. The pan weighs approximately 1.970gms.
We have been cooking on these pans with our special recipe, very successfully, at large events and markets for over 6 years throughout New South Wales. These are the pans most commonly used at markets. I am from a Dutch family and the pans make perfect, traditional pancakes. My dutch pancakes are big, light and fluffly balls dusted in icing sugar, smothered in maple, chocolate, strawberry, lemon, toffe or any of your favourite pancake topping!
about the recipe
Our (not-so- secret) recipe is included with the pan. It is exactly the same recipe that we use at our markets. A good recipe is key to making morish dutch pancakes. The recipe included is very simple and consists of basic pancake ingredients. My husband is a chef so he has added some additional basic ingredients to make the best possible poffertjes mix. This is a recipe you can hand down or pass on to your friends. I have also included all of my tips and hints from years of cooking at the markets. These pancakes can be a little tricky at first but with my simple instructions anyone can make them!!
about prepackaged mixes
Prepackaged mixes, in my opinion, do not taste the same as poffertjes made from simple ingredients. Plus you still need to add ingredients. Another disadvantage is that you need to keep reordering the mix. Therefore it is much easier and cheaper to make from a recipe plus they taste much better!
about the postage
Postage is $10.00 by express post to anywhere in Australia!
My goal is to send the pan as quickly as possible after payment has been received. Then I contact the buyer with the express post tracking number so the item can be located easily. Postage by express post can take up to three working days. Most pans are received within two days of sending. Express post is always recommended. Items can be tracked to the delivery address. This protects you, the buyer.
about Original Dutch Pancakes
I recently served a couple of Dutch customers. Although I come from a Dutch family, I am always interested in feedback in relation to the taste of my poffertjes. They returned to my stall and said "These taste exactly like the pancakes in Holland, thank-you". I have received excellent feedback from market customers and Ebay buyers about the pan and the recipe.
Above all, I want everyone to enjoy making dutch pancakes for their family and friends.
