Nearly everyone associates the Westminster chimes with the Victoria Clock Tower of the House of Parliament in London. Originally, however, they were fitted to the clock of the University Church, St Mary's the Great, in Cambridge, England. The words to this beautiful chime come from Handel's symphony, "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth" and could be our daily prayer: "Lord through this hour, Be Thou our guide So, by Thy power No foot shall slide." CARE & MAINTENANCE: Included in the sale is an information sheet that I have produced with advice on care and maintenance of old clocks. It covers many frequently asked questions like: how to adjust the pendulum for the correct angle and even ticking, care of the woodwork, adjusting the chimes, setting the speed of the clock and synchronizing the chimes with the hands. This information has proven invaluable in the past to customers not familiar with mechanical timepieces. SHIPPING: Local pickup is OK for this item. If you want additional cover up to the value of the item it is available at a rate of $1.15 per $100 covered.
