       This Superb, Authentic, Old Tribal Baluch Prayer Rug is in Excellent Condition, has a Hand Spun Wool Pile, Asymmetrically Hand Knotted to Hand Spun Wool Warps and Wefts and Displays the Seh Mihrabha, Three Mihrabs which are Typical Of Baluch Tribal Rugs Created by Nomadic Baluch Groups Roaming the South West Afghanistan Border Regions and are Known as Seistan Baluch after the Iranian Town where these Tribes Go to Buy Necessary Supplies or, When they Need Money, to Sell their Rugs.

     The Type of Local Hand Spun Wool Used, Range of Vegetable Colours including the Soft Mauve Tones Created from an Afghan Berry which Grows in the Region, Undyed Brown Wool Areas in the Ground, Excellent Design Layout - Look at the Charming Geometric Animals in Each of the Side Main Borders - non Symmetrical Proportions and Abrash in the Dyes are Proof of Creation on a Horizontal Loom by a Baluch Tribal group in a Nomadic Situation over the Period 1920 to 1940 and This 70 Year Old Rug is in Excellent Condition for its Age.

   It Measures 1.40m x 0.9m (4ft 7 inches x 2ft 11.5 inches) and the Original Selvedges and the Original Kilim Ends with Floating Weft Brocade Decorations are Still Intact. It has Full Pile and was Obviously Created as a Dowry Item and had Little Use before the Tribal Group was Forced to Sell or Trade it for Supplies. The only blemish I can find is one line of pile wear due to a tension difference in the weaving when the loom was moved during knotting. This is only one knot wide, about 10 cm long and does not affect the durability or value of the rug only Adds to its Authenticity in Regards to Age and Creation in an Authentic Tribal Environment.

         All our Rugs Are Old and Antique not the usual Ebay Miss Described Modern Copies. Many are Over 100 years Old, so they show the signs of this age as rugs are made to walk on. We can not describe every mark of use. We provide a picture of the entire rug and it is up to you to assess its condition from our pictures.
