The Story Of The Mini tells the story of the small car that became one of the giants in the automobile history. Using specially shot footage, the programme charts the rise and rise of one of the best loved cars in the world. It looks at the critical models in detail and illustrates what it was that made the car such a success.

There is also rarely seen archive footage that documents the Mini’s important milestones from its launch through to the One Millionth Mini – and onwards. There are some of the wacky and fun things that people did with the car as well as its extraordinary achievements in competition including the legendary wins on the Monte Carlo Rally at the hands of Paddy Hopkirk. The programme comes bang up to date with a review of the London to Brighton Mini Run.
