MORNING AT MITO BEACH By KAWASE HASUI

This Authentic Japanese Woodblock Print by Kawase Hasui is Titled Morning at Mito Beach and Dated 1953 in Japanese in the Left Hand Margin and Shows the Signature Hasui with his Round Red Seal Reading Sui, Below the Signature in the Bottom Right of the Scene. It is In Excellent Condition, Has Never Been Framed, Shows Rich, Well Entrenched Colour and is an Excellent Example of this Extraordinary Artist’s Skill and Attention to detail.

This Amazingly Tranquil Woodblock is 39.5cm x 26.5cm (1ft 3.5 inches x 10.4 inches), Printed on Medium Weight Washi, Hand Made Japanese Paper, with Bleed Through to the Reverse Side, and Displays the 7mm Round Black Watanabe Publishers Seal in the Bottom Left Corner of the Scene and the Red Heisei Seal in Bottom of the Right Hand Margin as Proof of its Authenticity. This Amazing Woodblock was Originally Released in 1953 and this Example is a Later Edition, Hand Printed from the Original 1953 Woodblocks by the Famous Watanabe Company.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: KAWASE HASUI Lived from 1883 until 1957. He is Most Highly Regarded for the Exquisite Colour, Amazing Perspective and Inspiring Ambiance of his Wide Range of Landscape Woodblocks. During his Life he Created Over 600 Different Woodblock Scenes and he is Recognised as one of Most Prolific and Most Talented of Shin Hanga Artists from the Early 20^th Century. It is no wonder that a Year Prior to his Death he was Honoured with the Title of a Living National Treasure.
