Hand-forged W.M. Mackenzie 1932 Model Two Iron Golf Club with PGA brand name. Australian PGA labelled, Australian PGA started in 1911. The years 1905 to 1925 are sometimes considered “unofficial” in terms of the PGA Championship, but only because there is no reference in the PGA Board minutes until that time. There is no dispute however that a Professional Championship was decided during those years and therefore this club is definitely one of the earliest to be carry the PGA brand name. 1930 - Australian, Joe Kirkwood and American, Walter Hagen played an exhibition match against home professional, Fred Popplewell and Don Spence. Result not recorded. The golf is in fair-good condition given its age. The grip is made from leather and the shaft from steel, covered with a wood like grain pyronite. The club head has a number of scratches and some oxidisation and would possibly need re-chroming.
