BROAD AXE - 2 1/2LB, VINTAGE ,WOODEN HANDLED & BRANDED -

THIS IS A SMALL UNUSUAL BROAD AXE WHICH MEASURES 42cms IN LENGTH - THE METAL HEAD MEASURES 19cms IN LENGTH x 12.5cms HIGH AT THE PEAK.  THIS AXE HAS A WOODEN HANDLE WITH A SOLID METAL HEAD AND HAS MARKINGS SUCH AS 2 1/2LBS AND A MAKER'S MARK INCISED WHICH IS HARD TO MAKE OUT BUT POSSIBLY "W-GN (or GW)-PIN"  THIS AXE IS VERY VERY OLD AND IS IN USED CONDITION.

 Q: It is unclear from the photo whether this is a "side axe", ie sharpened on one side, or a normal axe, sharpened on both sides. Can you inform?
A: Hi. I'm no expert with axes but it looks to be flat on one side and is sharpened on the other side where it tapers in. Hope this helps.
