Item Description

When Allied Forces land in ANZO, Italy they are initially unopposed, But instead of moving on to their primary objective, Rome, the Commanding Officer decides to build a coastal stronghold that allows the unprepared Germans time to outflank them, engaging in one of the most brutal and bloody battles of WWII. Castle Keep tells the story of battle weary soldiers who take refuge in a perfectly preserved medieval castle, awaiting the advancing German Army. While there the soldiers engage in some unusual rest and relaxation time before the invasion puts them right back in the firing line. Finally King Rat Chronicles the scams of a streetwise GI held in a Japanese prison camp. Under harrowing conditions he rises to a position of power above his military and social superiors, manipulating those around him and controlling the prison’s black market.
