THE STORY: Willy paints designs associated with the sacred and secret ceremonies of the Tingari Cycle. These stories recount the ancient tales of the Tingari people, an important group of mythical elders who travelled over vast stretches of the country back in creation time, performing rituals and imparting their knowledge to young initiates.
THE PAINTING: You will not see a better example of Willy’s energetic painting style, depicting stories from the Tingari Dreaming song cycle. The rich dark earthy red lines illustrate the tracks to the meeting places and the bright orange dots represent the fierce hailstorm that killed some of the ancestral Tingari Men during their travels in the Dreamtime. This is all set against a contrasting primed black background on thick quality artist canvas.
As Willy's larger works can now regularly fetch over $40,000 [top price $59,250] at auction, this large painting represents outstanding investment potential - not to mention the stunning impression it would make when proudly hung on your wall!
