YOU WILL NOT SEE BETTER ~ It'S GORGEOUS!
TITLE: Wild Bushflowers
PAINTED IMAGE SIZE: approx 880 x 600 mm [plus border for framing]
COMPLETED: 2009
MEDIUM: Acrylic paint on quality canvas
THE PAINTING: Yilpi has painted a simply gorgeous interpretation of the wild bush flowers that light up the desert after the rains. This is a beautifully executed piece with a mass of glorious dappled colour and movement set against a contrasting burnt orange primed background. A stunning future investment piece that would be the talking point on any wall – the photos simply do not do it justice.
NOTE: Please see other photos below.
THE ARTIST: Yilpi Marks was born at Ernabella and is well connected in the aboriginal art world. She is married to Damian Marks from Pupunya, whose uncle was the internationally famous artist Cifford Possum Tjapaltjarri [in Sotheby's July 2007 auction, one of his paintings fetched a record $2.4 m], making him a cousin to Clifford’s two daughters, Gabriella and Michelle Possum Nungurrayi - both accomplished artists in their own right. Yilpi is a quietly spoken artist, but speaks strongly through her amazing paintings that she interprets in several different unique styles.
PROVENANCE: A Certificate of Authenticity with a photo of Yilpi holding her work, that she has signed verso.
