THE PAINTING: Debra has painted the most amazing piece of art that depicts aspects of the blue tongue lizard. Her strong colour selection is a kalaidoscopic delight, with a sense of design that demonstrates a unique dynamic power. She is not afraid to use her paint and applies liberal amounts to the canvas in a colourful display that most people would die for! This amazing painting is simply spectatcular and would be the object of envy when hung [either vertically or horizontally] on any wall - or a boost for a future investment portfolio!
NOTE: Please see other photos below.
THE ARTIST:
Born: c1969
Place: Papunya Camp Skin Name: Nangala
Language: Pintupi
Born into an impressive artistic dynasty with the late Shorty Lungkata Tjungurrayi as her grandfather, Debra was destined to excel at art. Like Shorty, Debra's stories refer to his original country in the Gibson Desert, in particular, Lake MacDonanld. Debra was once married to the son of Mitjili Napurrula, who is also the nephew of the late great Turkey Tolson. Debra's paintings have been well documented Geoffrey Bardon's famous book, 'Papunya, a place made after the story' and her works are rapidly gaining well-deserved attention from astute collectors who recognise her future investment potential.
PROVENANCE: This painting will be supplied with a COA with a photo of Debra holding her painting that she has signed verso.
