THE STORY: George paints designs associated with the sacred and secret ceremonies of the Tingari Cycle. These stories recount the ancient tales of the Tingari people, an important group of mythical elders who travelled over vast stretches of the country back in creation time, performing rituals and imparting their knowledge to young initiates.
THE PAINTING: This is a stunning example of George’s raw energetic painting style, depicting stories from the Tingari Dreaming song cycle. Using a subtle pallette of several integrated rich earthy tones, George depicts the many tracks to the meeting places that the Tingari people took during their extensive travels in the Dreamtime. This is all enthusiastically painted on a contrasting primed red background that symbolies the desert sands.
As George's larger works now fetch substantial prices at auction, this wonderful painting represents outstanding future investment potential - not to mention the lasting impression it would make when proudly hung on your wall!
