This is a rare collectors model in 1:43 scale by Rio of Italy, brand new in original packaging, Rio item number 4122.

The Mercedes Benz 300 was Mercedes top model in the fifties and featured an inline six with 175 bhp. Construction was traditional body on frame so it lent itself to many variations in body style. There were a small number of these L versions built on a longer wheelbase, and some of these were open cabriolets as in this model.

This Rio model features accurate wheels with plated hubcaps, white walls and correct profile tyres. The body is very nicely proportioned, finished in authentic colours and depicts the original car very accurately. There are also photo etched windscreen wipers and lots of other plated parts such as grilles, trims, door handles, bumpers and so on.

The interior features include steering wheel, seats, detailed dashboard and rear passenger area.

Rio models come mounted on a black plastic plinth in a clear plastic display box with outer cardboard window box. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging.

Rio Models
Rio is a long established Italian maker of detailed scale models in 1:43 scale. All items are well researched and produced with meticulous attention to detail and a high level of finish. The original Rio company and tooling was sold a few years back to M4, the makers of Art Model and Best Model. They are in the process of revamping the range and re-issuing selected items with improved tooling and the addition of photo etchings to improve detail.

These models collectors items and are not toys. They are made in diecast metal with many other materials included for detailing, such as plastics, rubber and fine photo etchings on most items.

For transactions within Australia I will also accept direct bank deposit (either at branch or via internet banking) or Australia Post Money Order.

Insurance
I do pack all items very well to minimise the risk of damage, however I cannot be responsible for loss or damage while goods are in transit. If this is a concern to you I suggest postal insurance.

Within Australia -
Registered Post costs an extra $2.50 and covers your parcel against loss for up to $100.00. Extra cover is available at $1.10 per $100.00 cover.

International -
Postal insurance is available for $8.00 and this covers you against loss up to $100.00. Extra cover is available and costs $2.00 per $100.00 cover.
