Antique 1800s Cast Iron Candle Wick Snuffing Scissors

For your consideration a mid-19th Century cast iron scissor-action candle wick trimmer and snuffer in excellent workable and collectible condition. They have angled handles and measure almost 6" in length and 2" wide when closed, each side of the scissors having different dimensions. The larger section has a slightly recessed bowl to catch the hot trimmed wick. No maker's mark is apparent. Condition is very good -- there is still a little of the original black paint on the surface and these shears work smoothly, are still quite sharp and cut paper cleanly. There is a superficial edge chip from one blade, else fine.

Payment is due within 10 days of auction close. PayPal is accepted and permits you to pay with a major credit or debit card. NY residents must add 8.625% tax. An echeck thru PayPal may take longer than a week to clear your bank and result in commensurate delay in shipping your item.
