I had no idea where I was or how I got there. Carnival beads were clanging in my eyes as I rolled around on the floor in some kind of hallucinatory haze. I was way beyond drunk I was out there with the fairies. Was it a drug? magick? a curse?
Next thing I smell the foul breath of Mamma, panting in my face like a rabid dog muttering some crazy words some language full of noxious tones and heathen rambling, fouler was her breath than the vegetation that lay rotting putrid around my body. Blood stains on the floor, dust, rusted bottle tops and chewed tobacco spat and laying piled in a heap on the floor. Ants, flys crawled around me, bugs and spiders crawling the walls and disappearing where the paint flaked away. Mustard yellow and flaking off like dermatitis, like a household eczema it was so rank and digusting this din, this heated hell hole this sesspit.

I lay there holding on to dear life as Mamma spoke her incantations, her words so powerful i could feel them scorching my brain like a red hot poker, searing my inner brain with words of healing, spitting on me like a pultace. I felt her hot breath turn from the most putrid and rank stench into the sweetest and coolest breeze- I was taken to sumer days lying in a field of green meadows with poppies bobbing below my feet, clouds rolling by the sky like cricus animals all smiling down on me. a lone star twinkling beyond the edge of twilight, and what I thought was the edge of night was in fact the beginning of the dawn. teh sun began to stream into the room through the open gap where a door was clanging on it's rusted hinges..I was still in the room on the floor, on some kind of woven matt and a mangy dog lay beside me, chewing it's fleas and licking it's legs, looking at me with smiling eyes.
Mamma hibaji had cured me. She was a clamative a fixative , a voodoo Queen.
She told me I had fallen ill to something bad, some kind of poisoning and I had no idea what it was but I knew had it not been for her helping me, finding me, resucing me, I would now be dead.
She fixed me some cornmeal and gave me a big mug filled with some concoction, it tasted of coconut and whiskey but had some other herbs floating on the surface.
I was in a daze, but felt grateful for being here. Mamma just looked at me with a vacant stare as she sat sweating and fanning the flies away with a sodden rag. Beyond the vacant stare I could see a triumphant look, a glimmer in her coal black eyes.
I stayed with Mamma for weeks long after this fateful night. I learnt all I could in my tiem with her she passed on her wisdom to me oer many a long afternoon drinking bourbon and homebrew. She drank heavily but had the constitution of an Ox. She was never sick, always happy but the stench was always something to bare. It was worthwhile, tolerating the cruel elixir that spilled from her very essence, the stench so moist and musky and old- like she has been around and drunk so much her very pores contained some kind of hallucinagen in themseleves like deep wells of knowledge, peyote, transcendental sludge.
She was a miracle. She took me to Voodoo cermeonies where I met women from Haiti, real powerful women who hurled themselves on the ground in possession of their Loa in worshop and sacrifice.
Animals, food, alcohol were all given as sacrifice to the gods.
Mamma Hibaji passed on the spells to me out of respect and out of love due to our deep connection she regards me as a son.

I have since developed my magick and passed it on to a very small few- now I cast the voodoo as a means to help you get what you need in your life.
