This game is a very rare title. However, even though its a PS1 classic, I was still enthralled by it.
I played all of the single player missions, which although some missions got me to curse more than the cute little characters, due to it's insane difficulty, was rewarding in the end due to the big variety in the 6 worlds: the different types of soldiers, different weapons, different super weapons (such as a small plane you could fly around and drop bombs on your friends with).
The main purpose of this game was straight-up multiplayer fun of course.
These days everyone is fixated on how many polygons a character or environment in a game has, or if the sound track has a bajillion licensed songs or whatnot.
What is really lacking in games these days though is the pure fun factor. The ability of a game to keep you playing the game for years just because it's damn fun!
I'd go so far as to say that for the PS1, Team buddies, along with hogs of War, are games that should be listed as the best ps1 games ever.
Having a 4 player game with this is simply the most insane fun you can experience.
If you find playing Iron Man on the PC using an emulator, and having 4 players playing on 1 keyboard fun, this will be 10 times better.
Even though its an old game without many polygons (keke) its still very shiny and vivid, and the sound complements it. It's a crazy fast paced party game, so the graphics and sounds fit perfectly.
If you are longing for such a game, and are bored with Wii Sports already (or you broke your tv with the wii-mote), get this together with Hogs of War. You will NOT regret it
Oh well. This game was so addictive, I actually spent about the same amount on fixing any scratches it got, that I paid to buy it (about a tenner from a mate). I'm remembering this game as a cutesy little ear buster. Moments after my grandparents saw me playing and said, "That's a nice game" one of the little pill-shaped people said "You f ing t er". My dad rented it for me (because I was a little under the games age rating of 18 at the time). It was great. Worms with tanks and swearing pills. 10/10

Team buddies is one of my Fav shooters of all time i really wish there was a second one, I don't know what GS was talking about boring. Its fun and fast paced. Me and my brother have spent many hours playing this game and I've beat the single player mode several times.

This is one of the greats on the ps1, if u can even find this game, u should thank the gods that it has graced your presence and buy it. Its a great party game, and its nothing but fun, you can rest easily. It's definitely worth getting just for the wicked multiplayer, and the graphics are very good in a cartoon fashion. I'm not even the one who owns this game, it's my friend's, and we have both spent countless hours on it.

Team Buddies is a highly over-looked PS classic. This game doesn't have massive explosions, or kick'n stunts, but Team Buddies has something else. It has individuality. For todays standards games have to have state of the art graphics, fast cars, and sexy ladies. Team Buddies came out before this carbon copy craze of recent years, and has something few games today are able to grasp, a good plot line! Think if you will (or can), back to the beginning years of the Playstation. In 1995 the graphics were mediocre, and sound quality was bad. But by the start of 2000 the Playstation train was chugging at full speed, unlocking the systems full capability even though the PS2 was due out soon. Team Buddies had some of the best graphics and sound that still even rival some PS2 games. Its delightful graphics and vivid colours should not throw you off guard. Most people are surprised the first time they see their cute little jelly bean man running around the screen and then saying "I'm going ta open a can a whoop-ass on ya" in a bad British accent. Todays games are all about the physical appearance (graphics, colour, sound, screen layouts), but not about the actual game play. With the few exceptions of games like Resident Evil 4, i'm finding it harder and harder to find games that appeal to my interests and I know others who are the same. Team Buddies is a new take on an old concept of game play, this shooter is like nothing you have ever played before. Team Buddies is a basic third person shooter starts you off with a single low-level guy, no weapon, and soon going to be mowed down if he doesn't get his ass in gear. You start next to a 2x2 square pad, this is your stacking pad and near by is what's called the drop zone. The drop zone is where 1x1 square blocks drop mysteriously from the sky until the end of the level. They come in two colours, red (the most basic), and blue (rare, but more powerful). You must stack these blocks or "crates" as they're called in the game on your stacking pad. Depending on the number and position of the blocks will depend on what you get. Usually ONE of the following - uzi, grenades, new Buddie of same or higher rank, bazooka, or a tank. The stacking combos and controls are learned in a series of ( heaven forbid ), FUN that's right FUN tutorials. The rest you can probably figure out on your own.
The single player mode has a variety of challenging but fun levels, and sports an interesting story line. The multi-player mode provides up to months (and for me, years) of insane and endless combat. Team Buddies is a great game for those who like something different, or just want to shoot things. Team Buddies is an awesome way to connect with your PS roots.
If you like foul language and blowing things up you will love this game. The game is set over eight worlds with comical characters blowing each other up. Lets say if you like Worms you will love this game set in a 3-D surroundings.
The objectives of the game is to wipe out opposing teams, set as several countries of the World each with their own funny mannerism.
The game also has over 30 missions with extra multi player game types, making the game long lasting, and as soon as you switch on the game you will be cracking up with laughter over what the little colourful characters come out with.
The game has many different game types, and has a four player function which can be really funny. If you remember Worms you will know how fun the game can be when you play multiplayer and in some ways this is even better, because it is 3-D and all the guns are over the top, and the foul language that comes out of the characters mouths is really funny.
I suggest that if you want a laugh buy this game, it really is amazing that Sony even allowed this game to be launched but even if it is contraversial it is still fun at the same time.

This is a very odd game, its not about blood curdling zombies or fast cars, its something new and original.
I'll start by saying this game is full of bad language and has been given a 15 certificate which means that, despite its appearance and the design and colour in the game, it is definitely not for children.
Basically you control a team of four Buddies and complete missions including tidying Buddie World's dustbins, recovering a stolen bike from rival Buddies and destroying anything else that you deem worthy. Its a fast moving game and against the clock. You have to build Buddies, weaponry and other tools of destruction by collecting the fallen boxes and stacking them in different ways on a stacking pad. The time that you have to collect, build and complete missions is tight. The game in general is fast and frantic and you will probably find it quite hard the first time you play it. There are 32 levels in one-player mode, 32 landscapes too on which to play and 8 different themed areas.
The multiplayer games are great, from Footsie - a football game with a bomb for the ball - to more normal multiplayer missions. They are all fantastic for multiplayer games and well worth getting a few mates round for a game and a bit of fun. The Buddies are untrained and unskilled when you start playing. You have to equip them with weapons and teach them how to use them. You do this by swapping from Buddie to Buddie and making sure that they know what they are doing. Handling your team is easy once you get the hang of the controller setup.
The amount of weaponry available is awesome. In the early levels you start off with Uzi's, tanks and bombs; later on you can build bigger and better stuff including an aeroplane, allowing you a birdseye view of Buddie World as you drop bombs on your enemies. To be honest there aren't many bad features. For a PlayStation game the graphics are outstanding and the game's concept and humour are enough to keep you wanting to play on. The only thing I would say is that if you are particularly offended by bad language I would avoid the game totally. The language is throughout, although not gratuitous. It simply adds another facet to the already animated, expressive Buddies! The opening sequences are hilarious and the movement on the Buddies' faces is inspired. The humour in the game really holds the whole thing together - if this were missing the game would lose a lot of appeal. Apart from the great range of missions and objectives you have to complete, the feel of the game is what really makes Team Buddies stand out against other titles in the same field such as Worms and Hogs of War. If you are someone that appreciates great animated characters and a wicked sense of humour tied together in a totally surreal environment, then Team Buddies is not going to disappoint.

This game rocks! Right from the cool opening movie up to completing and seeing the last movie of that game its great. The game has great graphics and gameplay but the best think in the game has got to be the humour. Team Buddies is a game which is a laugh from when you first play it. Not one for the kiddies (had to add that for parents, etc) as the language is a little "unsuitable". For example, phrases such as "Learn how to play the game then, you ******** muppet" are used and more besides, depending mostly on the accent of your character. Your chracters are like little medicine capsules with arms floating in mid-air next to them, ditto with the legs. Anyway, the game. The game is played on a "field" a little area with hills, prizes, animals etc, and you and your enemies bases. It is a bit like a strategy, where you have to stack the blocks, then kick them to release the item, depending on how many you stack. You then take the prize - Baby Gatling Tank, Baby Rocket Tank, Rocket Launcher, Uzi etc etc, and use it to cause havoc on the opposite, team. You can control your buddies, up to 4. Buddies are created in the same way as Uzi's etc, as above. There are several structured one player levels, such as Domination, Deathmatch and other modes. Multiplayer is great fun to, being able to have an "Insult" button is great, just press circle when not holding anything and your character will swear or say some other funny thing.
