A GREAT FIND. A GLAZED STONEWARE GINGER BEER BOTTLE MARKED DOLPH LINDNER, DIMBOOLA. IT HAS TAN COLOURING FOR THE UPPER SECTION AND WHAT I THINK IS KNOWN AS A BLOB TOP, SEE THE PHOTO.
IT IS QUITE A HEAVY BOTTLE (612g) AND HAS A LITTLE ROUGHAGE UNDER THE BASE (SEE THE PHOTO AS PART OF DESCRIPTION) WHICH ALL APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN THERE PRIOR TO FIRING. The main imperfection is about 1cm long, 2mm deep, but with no associated cracks or structural weekness.
This bottle has been a part of a family's collection for about 50 years.
I will securely package it and despatch at AustraliaPost rates. Pick up from Perth is also an option.
GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING. On 03-Nov-09 at 15:07:34 AEDST, seller added the following information: In response to a query, I understand that DIMBOOLA, now largely wheat, sheep & timber. is in Wimmera district of western Victoria, began around 1859.
